The largest member of the Grass family,
mainly found in diverse climates from North-East Asia south
throughout East Asia an west to the Himalayas.
The stems can grow from a few centimetres to 40 metres, a single
stem of Bamboo from an established root system typically reaches
full height within one year. |

| Is native to the dry areas of Northern
China, it is a medium sized to large deciduous tree growing
up to 20-25 metres tall, it grows rapidly but has a short lifespan. |

Is a flowering plant found in Marine
or estuarine waters, most species are located in silty or sandy
sediments and can grow vast underwater meadows.
The growth of a Seagrass meadow occurs by vegative spread and
the germination and growth of seedlings. |

The stems look like Bamboo cane and
the joints are about 40-50cm apart, it is a cereal grain and
has a seasonal crop.
The leaves of the plant are used in the production of Basketware,
whilst the rest is for cereals, flour and the kernels (cobs)
for food consumption. |
